Biographies

Thomas W. Derry, Chief Executive Officer, Institute for Supply Management 

Tom Derry is Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Supply Management, with more than 30 years of experience in leadership and general management roles for public and private companies, and in the not-for profit sector. He has executed turn-arounds at the corporate and business-unit level through a variety of means, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, and business process re-engineering. 

As CEO of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Tom has a unique vantage point to observe major macroeconomic trends and the development of global supply chains through his daily contact with Fortune 500 chief procurement officers and chief supply chain officers, with government agencies and NGOs in the United States and abroad, and with leading academics. Tom has been interviewed on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and dozens of other business publications. Tom has represented ISM in meetings with the White House Council of Economic Advisers, the National Security Council, the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. 

At ISM, Tom has overseen an increase in revenues, a reduction in costs, the introduction of new revenue streams, and the launch of new product lines. As Chief Operating Officer of the Association for Financial Professionals, Tom oversaw strategy development and execution. Tom completed two cross-border acquisitions, which became for-profit subsidiaries of AFP. He oversaw all AFP staff in London, UK and Bethesda, MD. 

As General Manager of the Business Intelligence unit of LexisNexis, team led a 40-person acquisition integration team, which completed the integration ahead of plan and under budget. He also executed the strategic divestiture of another LexisNexis unit, and implemented new technologies, including web-crawling bots, to re-engineer data collection and quality processes for LexisNexis’ business data unit. 

Tom is a 1986 graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service (B.S., Foreign Service). 


Rebecca Haagsma, Environment sustainability, Telstra

Bec is a member of Telstra’s executive leadership team, leading the Strategic Partners and Devices Centre of Expertise, in the Product and Technology organisation. Driving partnerships and building relationships that will deliver innovation and growth for Telstra, alongside our device and accessories roadmap, Bec and her team are forming a new capability, focused on adding value to the Telstra-wide business. Prior to this she led Telstra’s Media and Entertainment division for 5 years, adding value to the core by delivering leading sports and entertainment streaming experiences. Prior to Telstra, Bec worked in leadership roles in broadcast television and magazine publishing companies.

Bec is an alumni of the Women’s Leadership Forum 2018 at Harvard Business School, and holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of New South Wales.


Mercedes Pastor, President Eurasia, Technicolor Connected Home

Mercedes joined Technicolor in January 2016. With over 28 years of experience, and as a member of the management committee, she has been strategic in driving the Global CPE strategy.

Coming from Alcatel-Lucent, Mercedes has successfully carried out multiple roles and responsibilities within management positions as Head of Regional Sales, Business Units and R&D. She holds a Masters Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University Polytechnic of Madrid as well as a PADE by IESE Business School.

In her personal life she enjoys running, opera and spending time with her husband and adorable terrier.


Dominique Rousseau, Group Director Device Operations, Vodafone Group

Dominique is responsible for customer demand fulfilment for Device across countries, which covers Mobile, Fix and Consumer IoT product domains. He has the end to end supply chain responsibly for these three businesses which includes supplier strategy and commercial management, in country logistics and retail fulfilment across all Vodafone markets.

In addition, he is member of the Board of the Vodafone Procurement Company established in Luxembourg.

He joined Vodafone in 2006 to lead the network procurement across all Vodafone markets. As its COO, Dominique has ramped up Vodafone’s Procurement Company. He subsequently was appointed as CEO of Vodafone Roaming Services providing roaming services for Vodafone markets. Prior to Vodafone, he led the Americas business of Siemens AG Mobile Networks and managed supply chain of other Siemens businesses. He started his career at Philips.


Eric Rutter, President Americas, Technicolor Connected Home 

Eric was appointed as President of Technicolor Connected Home Americas in January 2018 and is also a new member of Technicolor’s Management Committee. He joined Technicolor in April 2016 as SVP Sales & Client Director for the Charter Communications account team with responsibility for customer premise equipment (CPE) sales, including Set-Top Boxes (STB), Gateways, Cable Modems, Routers, Cable Cards, Software Platforms, and Services.

Prior to joining Technicolor, he was VP of Sales for Tier 1 Cable TV accounts at Rovi (TiVo). He graduated from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Economics and attended Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School.

Eric is based in New Jersey where he spends his personal time alongside his wife Becky, two sons Tommy and Matthew and his beautiful daughter Kayla.


Lloyd Switzer, Chief Procurement Officer, Telus

As Chief Procurement Officer, Lloyd leverages partner ecosystems to drive short and long-term value for TELUS to enable its continued success and continuous innovation. The goal is to create processes and infrastructure that are cost- effective and competitive, enabling TELUS to constantly meet the evolving needs of its millions of subscriber connections and future growth demands across a broad portfolio of solutions including: mobility and home; healthcare; security; enterprise connectivity, agriculture supply chains and Internet of Things. Lloyd and his team are responsible for procurement and sourcing strategy, supply chain management and operations, and transforming the underlying processes and systems that support them.

A seasoned telecommunications executive, Lloyd has over 30 years of experience across the industry with equipment manufacturers, service providers and strategy consulting companies, including Nortel Networks, Deloitte, Strategos and two technology start-ups. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and resides in Toronto. Lloyd puts his passion for his city, region and country into action and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Region Board of Trade and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council, a board members IT industry association for Canada, and is co-executive sponsor for TELUS’ LGBTQ resource group in Ontario.
